Takshshila International Gurukul has been built with the aim of serving our society. At Takshshila International Gurukul, we mold our students in all aspects of life, ensuring that they receive all that is necessary for the over-all growth to take on the world of opportunities head-on.

Takshshila International Gurukul aspires to be a school where every student is nurtured to realize his potential, where there is an environment of joyous learning, active citizenship, and dedication to hard work, commitment to be courageous, compassionate and inclusive.

The basis of our foundation is Value Based and Value Driven. Our purpose is very clear: We ensure that all students regardless of background or prior achievements are given the skills, experiences and qualifications necessary for them to take charge of their destinies. We have the same expectations from all our students, valuing and celebrating the achievements of all.

TAKSHSHILA. It is a combination of 10 letter all of which have a predefined meaning which motivate us to work for betterment of the society and fulfill our goals. These values encourage us to do something better each day and make our nation proud.

Teaching Methodology

We are driven by the mission of enabling children to think critically and develop a sense of enquiry guiding them to be better version of them. Our teachers use a blend of technological tools and individual (& group) activities, empower students to learn concepts better.

At Takshshila International Gurukul, our teaching methodology evolves with the needs of the children. We believe that every child is different and hence our teaching methods and assessments are designed to match that. Our highly competent teachers carefully plan each lesson block, term and year that has a judicious mix of projects, activities, exposure visits, classroom interactions and self-learning modules to bring out the best in each student.

Takshshila Way ensures that we keep the child (learner) at the center of all our activities. We focus on building your child’s overall personality – conceptual, emotional and leadership dimensions through an effective management of the curricular and the extra-curricular activities.

Student Development Program

We are driven by creating equal opportunities and access to world class education in Himachal. Takshshila Way is committed to build a model that offers a ‘holistic’ approach to Child Development.

Our new value based education system with ancient pedagogy for future of the country and world focuses on:

School Structure

  • The Formative Years (Play group, Nursery, KG)

  • The first few years that children spend in school are extremely critical in their development and also influence their attitude towards the school in general and studies in particular. Recognizing this, Doon International School lays great emphasis on providing our younger children with a friendly, warm, and homely environment. The classrooms are well equipped and brightly decorated to exude a feeling of belonging. An Activity Centre and Play Park designed by Education Experts provides areas for leisure and relaxation for the little ones outside their classrooms. The teaching at this level is activity based and modern methods of teaching like play way and role play are extensively used for imparting education.

  • The Junior School (Class I-V)

  • The junior school is the first step forward for our little ones as they enter Class-I. The basic inputs that the child has been provided at the formative stage are consolidated at this level as the student becomes capable of understanding basic concepts of the various subjects. The classrooms and infrastructure have been carefully selected to ensure that the sense of belonging created in the early years carries on with the child as he moves to the junior school. Various co-curricular and extra-curricular activities are introduced at this level and the children are encouraged to explore their creativity and individual talent.

  • The Middle School (Class VI to VIII)

  • When the child enters Class VI, the school helps him make the transition from a protected environment to one where he develops his individuality and personality. The child is also encouraged to develop his interest in specific subjects as per his aptitude and potential so that in the later years he may specialize in his chosen areas. The subjects are taught by specialist teachers trained specifically for teaching particular subjects. The curriculum includes English, Hindi, Mathematics, Science, Social Sciences, Arts, Music, and a third language such as French, German, Punjabi, Sanskrit, etc.

  • The Senior School (Class IX to X) and in future (Class IX to XII)

  • The Senior School student must prepare for the first major examination of his/her life, at this level the school will strive to provide a scholarly yet stress-free environment to enable the student to achieve the goals and standards. The teachers at this stage would be recognized experts in their field so that the students can be provided every opportunity to excel at their academics. The senior school children also take the first step into adulthood and need adequate guidance and counselling from all concerned, hence the teachers are encouraged to be their friend, philosopher and guide. The school will offer specialized courses of study in class XI and XII in the future so that the students can be prepared for the careers that they wish to pursue later in life. Students are encouraged to set career goals for themselves. In the area of career enhancement, students have opportunities to connect with mentors through our Career Counselling and Life-skills Programmes, run by qualified professional teams.

We believe that all our students are unique individuals, with equal potential to make a positive contribution to the school. Our goal is to instil an enthusiasm for lifelong learning. Students under the guidance of a faculty member run their own clubs and organize activities, depending on their interests. They have the option to choose from Social service, Eco club, GK & debating club, Entrepreneurship club, Techno and innovator club.

    PASTORAL CARE

During his or her time with us at School, your wards will make the challenging transition from childhood to adulthood. We understand that entrusting there care and education to us during this period is not done lightly. As a large school, we are able to offer extraordinary advantages in resources and choices, but we are also divided into small groups too, through the three academic Divisions (Lower School, Upper School and Senior School), and the House system. These create interlocking layers of pastoral care which enable every boy and girl, the reserved as well as the extrovert, to find opportunities to lead a confident, fulfilled and enjoyable life at School.

    HEALTH CARE

We care your wards. They are precious for us. We have proper regular health check up. Pupils are discouraged from keeping medication in the campus for intermittent self-administration in order to minimize any possibility of misuse by the student or others and missed diagnoses by the School medical staff.
